We can do all things through Christ

We can do all things through Christ

Moving from Colorado to San Diego is no easy task. Our house officially sold on Friday, August 17th. Hurrah! 🙂 We sold it for much lower than we first listed it for last year – Boo! 😦 The homes in San Diego go for about double what they would cost in Colorado. Therefore we are praying for a miracle.

We’ve seen the Lord provide for us in so many ways over the last two years. It’s given us hope and confidence that this is where the Lord wants us to be. Since we are confident about His calling on our life, it makes sense that He will provide a place for us to live in His perfect timing. Why is it so hard to wait?

One of the things we are praying about is whether we should rent or buy. I told Dawn that if we are to buy a home here it is going to take a miracle. God is a God of miracles, so we don’t yet know what He will do. Yet we know what He can do. He can do beyond what we can ask or think.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

—Ephesians 3:20,21 (ESV)

Today as I was walking in the neighborhood where we are staying in the Mid-City area I came across a street named Miracle Drive. It was fitting as we look to the Lord for a miracle that we would find a street with such a name.

It’s so good to be here after all the work and all the dreaming about living and serving in mission on the border.

Please join us in believing the Lord for the miracle He as for us as we look to Him for a house. We could also use His peace as this is a stressful and unsettling time. Thank the Lord that this is easy for Him. We serve a great God!

In His grip, Dave

Why San Diego, a very expensive city? Why not one of the other border towns? How about Calexico?

    • San Diego – Tijuana are the largest twin border cities in the world with over 5 million. There are huge needs here. Yet as I mentioned there are some challenges

Hi dkzody, I am Dave’s teammate. I can’t speak for the Diasos, but I can venture some comments of my own. One of the reasons our team is working in San Diego/Tijuana because it’s a strategic location in terms of numbers of people and the possibility of planting strong churches that will serve as a foundation to plant even more churches in the surrounding areas such as Calexico.

There are about 3 million people in San Diego as opposed to the 150,000 or so in the Imperial Valley (location of Calexico). Also, TJ has somewhere around 3 million people and is the 5th largest city in Mexico. San Diego is also very multicultural with refugees and immigrants from around the world, making it a great place to reach out the the “nations” coming to our own borders.

I’m excited about how God will use the Diasos and our MTW team here on the border! Praise the Lord for bringing them here – we’ve been anticipating their arrival.

    Good Morning
I will continue to keep you and yours in my prayers
We have moved so many times and to so many states/cities
We moved from Fresno to Spokane to Portland OR area to Las Vegas and now Pahrump NV

Whenever we have moved to other cities we rented for a year to investigate the city and the neighborhoods – you would hate to buy into some area and then find the Perfect area but as you said The Lord works His way – so He may be leading you to Miracle Drive!

It takes awhile to feel “at home” in a new city and finding Dr’s – schools – etc

    God Bless your journey

I have learned that while we believe God provides miracles….we must be able to take the first step in our faith that God will provide…..I stand with you in praying he will lead you where he wants you to go!
